Getting too attached to a game being a bad thing
Fortnite battlepass gives you a ton of skins and cosmetics over the season. I honestly don’t get the hatred towards Fortnite compared to the scummy practices of other BR games, no lootboxes, no game cost and constant updates. It’s a great company, so of course it attracts a younger and fortnite items dumber audience.
I can appreciate the unique style and the work put into it but good God I personally can't stand it. That's where most of my dislike comes from, I usually prefer more aesthetically pleasing games.
Undertale is even more horrid cause they went against one of the main messages of the game, getting too attached to a game being a bad thing, and literally just did the exact opposite of what it was saying and obsessed over small non mattering details and never left the fandom.
I find this funny because I have refused to pay for the battle pass, and ever time my friends ask, I tell them that they can donate to my fund towards getting a battle pass. They've basically said they'll donate a dollar a piece if I actually set up the goFundMe page, so who knows, this might be me next week.
When my room mate and I first started playing mid S2 we made fun of the knights for paying for skins. Little did I know the burning desire I would develop for those back blings. I find it kind of silly how people will spend hundreds to go skiing or golfing or whatever just to spend a few hours of enjoying their hobby. However, when someone spends $10 on their video game hobby that they spend countless hours on, it’s pathetic. I’m waiting for that Fortnite Item Shop stigma to go away.
A movie is a little bit more justifiable like it could be intellectually stimulating, don't get me wrong i've bought the battlepass but like. you do literally get like nothing just like an outfit that doesnt really do anything. like a real life shirt keeps you warm, shoes protect your feet. to justify it maybe compare it with like tipping a waiter. to use one of your comparisons. its like paying twice as much for a cinema ticket to have a yellow chair.
When I dont have it set to random, I change skins every game, win or lose, same with my backblings. There are times when I like a certain combination of skin, backbling and pickaxe, but im usually always switching. I have all the way from Renegade Raider, Ghoul, to the newest that have come out. Maybe one day when Im done playing I can sell the account. The amount of messages people asking to trade for my ghoul trooper is INSANE, especially when they only offer some 20 skins to my 60+. I do intend to keep buying them too, Fortnite is just a game I have come to enjoy a bit too much.
The two skins that I kick myself for because I passed them up are Merry Marauder and Crackshot. I’ve never bought skins in a game and almost pulled the trigger. However, I never actually did. If I knew I would be playing for as long as I have I think I would’ve bought them. I also missed when they re-released unfortunately. Those two skins remind me of when I was on Christmas break and playing with my friends all the time. Back when the game was super fresh and fun.
People have been saying this since cosmetics came out, no you're not the only one people complain all the time. Also I don't know about anyone else but I don't care what anyone else thinks of my skin, I just buy what I like the looks of. Also I'm on this sub everyday and Fortnite Fashion have never seen a post like that. Its their own fault if they dont have the sense to not spend 20$ every new skin on a free game I somtimes play with my little brother and ill tell ya kids can be dumb, one of his friends thinks not having high tier skins make him look poor even though its financial irresponsibility (spending 20$ every few weeks on a free game) thatll make you poor.
